Throughout history, Mulattos have been unfairly
stereotyped has having "small hands, aristocratic insteps, blue
veins, and a preference for light work such as shuffling cards or
dice" (John E. Bruce). There were however some hybrid individuals who
overcame their difficult circumstances such as; Elizabeth Keckley, (a slave
and seamstress to Mary Todd Lincoln) who eventually bought her freedom,
Dorothy Champ, ( an actress who championed understanding between the
races), Sister Mule-Lady (the half mule/half woman Holy Patron Saint of
the Mulatto Nation), and Tom Jones, the famous British crooner (Professor
Saar did her doctrine on "The Tom Jones is Black Theory")
These larger-than-life half-breeds paved the way for future
Mulattos.
